London Wedding Photographers | Our stand at the UK Wedding Show.
Last Weekend on the 5th and 6th of February was the UK Wedding show at the Excel Exhibition Centre in Docklands and I took charge of stand no 200 next to the stage and the Champagne bar.
Before the show began on the Saturday I met up with a number of the 13 other photographers and also had a chance to put faces to the names of the various suppliers we’ve been networking with online for the last year.
The show was great and the large wall prints I had produced reflected my style of wedding photography very well which meant that brides and grooms didn’t have to trawl through lots of albums to understand what sort of photographs I would produce at their wedding.
I ran a competition at the show for a pre wedding shoot, congratulations to the winners, all have been notified this morning.

Wedding Photographer London | Welcome to my new Wedding Photography Website
Over the last six months we have been very busy with weddings but I have never been that happy with the look of the wedding website. Most of the wedding bookings come by way of referal but new wedding clients looking at dozens of websites in search of a photographer were unlikely to call me because my previous wedding website looked a bit dull and homemade. It contained tons of information but didn’t leap out and grab anyone enough to want to make an enquiry.
With the help of my web designer Solly in New Zealand it now looks sleek, clear, informative, and most of all sexy!
The blogs are now divided up into two categories; recent weddings, and blog and news. The previous blog included all this but the recent weddings were cluttered up with all sorts of other wedding related information. You can read about the origins of confetti, why men wear wedding rings, photography trends, what to do if it rains on your wedding day, and even what does ‘Something old something new something borrowed something blue’ mean?
The Portfolio is now full of great photographs much more representative of my style. Take a look at it here.
The Packages page has been reworked and it is now much easier to see what is included within each one. I’ve also included half day packages for shorter weddings and those on a tight budget, this means I can still offer a high end service without the full day price tag. Take a look at the packages page here.
There’s also a new Albums and Wedding Books Page, and I’m really pleased with the way this now looks. Again it is much more representative of the albums I actually produce for couples. Take a look at the Albums page here.
There’s now a page about me and lots of testimonials around the site, there’s also much more detail on some of the fun things we can also provide at a wedding, take a look at the Creative Extras page here.
To accompany the website there is also a newly designed flyer which you can pick up the stall on Northcote Road. Please let me know what you think of the new site.
Article in This Months SW Magazine
About two months ago I was interviewed by a journalist about my work, my background and the connection with Northcote Road where I have my stall at the weekends. SW magazine have printed a double page spread in the November issue.
You can read all about it on the weddings site, go to www.weddingphotographerslondon.uk.com
Wedding Photographer London | Sarah and Andrew, St. Mary’s Battersea, Sarah’s Parents home in Clapham
Wedding Photographer London, Sarah and Andrew
I photographed Sarah’s sisters wedding and her cousins wedding six years ago. Now Tilda and May have two children and it was great to see the family again this time at Sarah’s wedding.
Sarah and her father arrived at St. Mary’s church in a white London taxi and we we able to take some lovely photographs down by the river before going into the church. St Mary’s is ideal for photography, large widows let in plenty of light and the upstairs gallery allow great shots of the congregation from above.
Sarah and Andrew took all of their guests back the reception at Sarah’s parents house in two red London routemaster buses. The reception took place in the garden on a large decked area and under a very cleverly designed marquee in the lower part of the garden. Sarah’s attention to detail was on show everywhere and she had transformed the garden into a beautiful space.
The photograph above was taken from one of the top floor windows while the couple were waiting togo into the marquee, and I promise it wasn’t set up! It just goes to show that some of the best shots at wedding ‘just happen’
London Wedding Photographer | Charlotte and Matt, The Barn at Bury Court, Bentley, Farnham
London Wedding Photographer, Charlotte and Matt
Last Friday I drove through the pouring rain to meet Charlotte and Matt at the The Barn at Bury Court in Bentley near Farnham. I photographed Charlotte’s sisters wedding at the Battersea Pump House four years ago.
The gardens and the facilities for weddings at The Barn at Bury Court are impressive, and although Charlotte and Matt’s friends and family made good use of the indoor space we weren’t able to use the garden because of the weather. Charlotte and Matt did brave the elements with their umbrellas and we were able to take some great photographs like the one above.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Charlotte and Matt, and their guests, and having now processed all of the images I can see that my very trip around the garden was well worth it!
London Wedding Photographer | Holly and Mike, Botley’s Mansion, Chertsey, Surrey.
London Wedding photographer Surrey.
On Friday we were reminded that autumn isn’t far away but that didn’t put off Holly and Mike, and their friends and relatives.
I met Holly about two years ago at her office where we installed a number of my photographic prints. Holly was the office manager at a firm of architects then and now she is an associate. Holly called me in May earlier this this year and luckily I was free which is unusual at this time of year as it’s a busy time for wedding photography.
Mike and Holly are a fantastic couple and they photograph very well together. Their friends and family are a great bunch of people and took the celebrations very seriously! Botley’s mansion will be sure to remember this wedding in years to come.
Many thanks for all your hospitality. Holly and Mike are away this week on honeymoon but nobody knows where despite Mike’s friends doing the best they could to find out on Friday evening.

Wedding Photographers London | Classic Wedding Dress and Accessories shoot
Wedding photographers London, Classic Wedding dress and Accessories shoot.
Last Thursday I spend the day with the people from Vogue Australia photographing brides dresses and accessories for their ‘Classic dresses and accessories edition. I’ve worked a lot with them over the years and they have featured in the magazine a number of weddings I’ve shot in the UK and in Australia and New Zealand.
I try and use natural light indoors and outdoors wherever possible. For the shoot on Thursday I was very keen to stay away from artificial light and the photograph above was taken outdoors using a reflector to even out any shadows.
Autumn is a great month for wedding photography, it’s also a great month for landscapes and outdoor portraits. The light is often best at the beginning and at the end of the day, and at midday in autumn the light is not as harsh as it can be in summer. Take a look at more information on weddings here.
London Wedding Photographer | Naomi and Edward, The Pump House Battersea Park
London Wedding Photographer, Naomi and Edward
September is a wonderful month for weddings. There is no expectation that the weather will be great, and yet it normally is at the end of summer/beginning of autumn. September this year seems to be a busier month for weddings than August was. Find out more about Wedding Photography here.
Naomi and Edward were married on Saturday at the Pump House in Battersea Park. Naomi and her father arrived on a Rickshaw and they joined Edward and their guests packed in tightly in the gallery and mezzanine upstairs. I took the photo above on one of the footbridges in Battersea Park, Naomi and Edward were very keen to be as creative as possible with their wedding photography so there are lots of shots a bit like this.
Naomi and Edward left the Pumphouse in their Rickshaw and set off this week to Australia where they hope to stay and work for a year or two.
Wedding Photographers Devon | Melissa and Steven, Thurlestone Church, Thurlestone Hotel Devon
Wedding Photographers Devon, Melissa and Steven.
I first met Melissa three years ago at a wedding I photographed in Scotland. I then met Melissa again with Steven in January this year at another wedding, and we talked about their wedding planned for later in the year in Thurlestone in South Devon. My wife and I have been coming to Thurlestone with our children for many years and we know the area well. For more more information of wedding photography.
Coincidentally Melissa and Steven had booked their wedding on the same weekend we had planned to arrive for our holiday in Devon which worked out very well. So I’m writing this blog while on holiday, the weather has been great so far and we will be back in London this weekend.
Melissa and Steven are moving house next week and will probably take a holiday later in the year.
